What's in a Name?

In Spanish, "camino" is the word for walkway or road; "merced" is the word for mercy. The name Camino Merced suggests the "way of mercy" and reminds us of the prophet Micah's statement regarding what the Lord expects of his people -- "To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)

CCLI Song #4551667
Scripture Reference: I Corinthians 6:20; 11:23-26
Theme: Communion
Key: C
Mood/Tempo: meditative/medium slow

This Communion song is based on the ancient call and response, "Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord," and the instructions of the apostle Paul (as relayed in I Corinthians 11:23-26) for remembering the Lord's death until he returns. It fits into the liturgy of the Eucharist as the response after "We proclaim the Lord's death until he comes again."

The format for this song is: Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus, repeat Chorus. There is an obbligato for violin that is played from the start of the second verse to the end of the song.

In This Holy Moment
Verse 1
In this holy moment,
As we lift our hearts up,
We receive bread and cup.
We remember you, Lord.
And in this holy moment
We receive your grace.
We remember, Lord Jesus,
That you died in our place.

And in this holy moment
We receive this sacrament.
We remember your sacrifice;
We are bought with a price.

Verse 2
In this holy moment
We affirm our faith;
We proclaim your death.
We remember you, Lord.
And in this holy moment
We await your return.
We'll remember, Lord Jesus,
Till you come back again.

Repeat Chorus
